Gulfstream Aerospace Announces Successful Maiden Flight of the G400
Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. announced the successful completion of the first flight of the all-new Gulfstream G400, officially launching the flight test program. The G400 departed Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport at 9:04 a.m. and returned two hours and 54 minutes later, having reached a speed of Mach 0.85.
The first flight marks a significant milestone in the development of the G400, which is expected to enter service in 2025. The aircraft is designed to offer a range of up to 4,200 nautical miles and a top speed of Mach 0.92. It features a spacious cabin with seating for up to 19 passengers, as well as a number of advanced technological features.
The G400's flight test program will include a series of tests to evaluate the aircraft's performance, handling, and systems. The program is expected to last for approximately two years, and will be based out of Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport.
