Who is Maurizio Bologna?
Early Life and Education
Born in 1972 in Naples, Italy, Maurizio Bologna earned a degree in Economics from the University of Naples "Federico II" in 1997. He then moved to the United Kingdom to pursue an MBA at the London Business School, which he completed with honors in 1999.
Career in Investment Banking
Bologna began his career in investment banking at Goldman Sachs in London. Over the next decade, he rose through the ranks, holding various positions in the firm's equities and fixed income divisions. In 2006, he was appointed Managing Director and Head of European Investment Banking.
Private Equity and Real Estate
In 2010, Bologna left Goldman Sachs to co-found a private equity firm called Altamont Capital Partners. Altamont invests in a wide range of industries, including healthcare, technology, and consumer products. Bologna also serves as the Chairman of H.I.G. Capital, a global private equity and alternative assets investment firm. Additionally, he is the Chairman of Hines Europe, a real estate investment and management firm.
Academic and Philanthropic Interests
Bologna is a Visiting Professor at the London Business School and the University of Napoli Federico II. He is also the founder and President of the Bologna Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports educational and cultural initiatives in Naples.
Personal Life
Bologna is married with two children and resides in Monaco. He is an avid art collector and enjoys skiing and sailing.
