The Philadelphia 76ers earned the No. 7 seed in the Eastern Conference and will face the No. 2 seed New York Knicks in the opening round of the playoffs. The Sixers clinched their playoff berth with a 105-104 win over the Miami Heat on Thursday night.
In their regular season meeting, the Knicks won three of the four games against the Sixers, including a 108-92 victory in their final matchup on March 28. However, the Sixers will be looking to avenge those losses and make a deep run in the playoffs.
The series is expected to be a competitive one, with both teams having a number of talented players. The Knicks are led by Julius Randle, who averaged 24.1 points and 10.2 rebounds per game this season. The Sixers are led by Joel Embiid, who averaged 28.5 points and 10.6 rebounds per game this season.
The first two games of the series will be played in New York at Madison Square Garden, with the third and fourth games being played in Philadelphia at the Wells Fargo Center. If necessary, a fifth game will be played in New York, a sixth game will be played in Philadelphia, and a seventh game will be played in New York.
