Celtics Take Commanding Lead in NBA Finals
Boston One Win Away from Title
The Celtics held off a furious Mavericks rally Wednesday night to take a 3-0 lead in the NBA Finals and move one win away from a record 18th championship. The Celtics took a commanding 3-0 series lead over the Mavericks with a 106-99 win in Game 3 of the NBA Finals in Dallas on Wednesday night.
The Mavericks entered the game with some reason for hope after Celtics big man Kristaps Porzingis, one of Boston's best players in Games 1 and 2, was ruled out with an injury. But the Celtics showed their depth and resilience, with Jayson Tatum leading the way with 26 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists.
The Celtics will now have a chance to close out the series and win their first NBA championship since 2008 when they face the Mavericks in Game 4 on Friday night in Boston.
